Dr. Le was born in Vietnam and immigrated to the United States when he was just six years old, not speaking a word of English. Through hard work and plenty of studying, he went on to not just learn to communicate with his peers, he eventually was able to earn a scholarship to dental school and even graduate at the top of his class!
Dr. Le was inspired to choose a career in the dental field based on his own childhood struggles with oral health. As a kid, he didn’t put much of an emphasis on caring for his teeth and gums, and as a result he found himself constantly getting cavities. He also had misaligned teeth and bruxism, both of which contributed to chronic oral pain. Because of this he was insecure about his smile, but he used those insecurities to motivate him to pursue a career in dental medicine so he could help prevent others from suffering from the same issues he did growing up.
Following high school, Dr. Le graduated with his B.S. in Molecular and Microbiology from the University of Central Florida and his M.S. in Biomedical Sciences from Barry University where he graduated summa cum laude. He then attended Nova Southeastern University where he achieved highest honors on his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.
After completing dental school, he continued training at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Fayetteville, AR, caring for our military veterans. During this time, he also received advanced training in dental implant surgery, full mouth rehabilitation, hard and soft tissue grafting techniques, and even management of medically complex patients.
Once he completed his residency, Dr. Le earned his certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry, and joined the team at the Khoi Dental Group, where he is honored to work with such an esteemed group of dentists and amazing community of patients near Murray Hill. Dr. Le is an active member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists as well as the Academy of Osseointegration.
Dr. Murray has been practicing dentistry for nearly three decades. A passionate lifelong learner, each year he takes two to three times more than the required minimum amount of continuing education to maintain his dental license. That dedication and commitment to the field benefits his patients and team members here at Khoi Dental Group near Murray Hill each and every day.
Dr. Murray was inspired to study dentistry because as a child he suffered from chronic earaches that exposed him to years of unsuccessful sinus treatments. Finally, as a teen his family dentist diagnosed him with a bite misalignment that was causing temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction. His dentist referred him to an orthodontist who corrected his bite and stopped his chronic ear pain, inspiring Dr. Murray to want to help others feel better with the help of dentistry, too.
Dr. Murray earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology and attended dental school at the University of Maryland at Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. He then attended his General Practice Residency at the Reading Community General Hospital. For the next three years, he practiced under several doctors and specialists in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Today, Dr. Murray is an active member in a number of prestigious professional organizations, including:
My first visit to Carlson was great. The receptionists were extremely kind and comforting and the lobby and exam rooms were very clean. The entire staff went above and beyond to accommodate me and help me find an oral surgeon.
